Learning happens between the buildings.
At Westland High School, the spaces between buildings are just as important as the buildings themselves.
Wide covered walkways connect every part of the campus, creating sheltered places where students gather, collaborate and move comfortably throughout the day. Large translucent canopies introduce natural light while providing protection from the weather, creating bright outdoor learning environments that remain connected to the landscape.
The architecture is deliberately restrained. Clean forms, repeated vertical lines and a carefully balanced material palette establish rhythm and consistency across the campus, while bold feature colours provide identity and intuitive wayfinding. The result is an environment that feels calm, welcoming and designed to support learning every day.
