Finish

Finishes that shape performance

Surface choices designed to endure New Zealand conditions.

Where finish becomes function

While colour defines appearance, finish governs protection, ageing and long-term maintenance expectations. Selecting the right finish is central to achieving both architectural clarity and whole-of-life performance.

Choosing the right finish is central to achieving both design intent and whole-of-life outcomes.

Three finishes. Distinct outcomes.

Nu Wall offers three primary finish types, each delivering a different balance of appearance, durability and surface behaviour. Understanding these differences helps ensure finishes are selected with confidence for both design intent and environment.

Powder Coating

Anodising

Sublimated

Versatile. Proven. Built for everyday exposure.

A durable, consistent finish available across a wide colour range. Powder coating suits most residential and commercial applications, offering long-term performance with straightforward maintenance and broad design flexibility.

Applied with a super-durable polyester resin, powder coating delivers excellent adhesion and long-term durability.

Refined metallic surfaces, formed within the material.

An integral metallic finish formed within the aluminium surface itself. Anodising delivers a refined, consistent appearance with excellent resistance to wear and fading, well-suited to contemporary architectural expression.

Anodising is semi-transparent with the texture of the base metal visible through the anodised finish. Anodising offers a random natural finish with a visible metal texture offering an irregular planking patina.

Natural character, reinterpreted in aluminium.

A specialist finish that recreates the appearance of timber , concrete, carbon fibre and other patterns on aluminium. Sublimation offers visual warmth and texture with the durability and low-maintenance benefits of metal.

A two-stage coating that replicates timber or corten tones delivering natural warmth with reduced maintenance.

Surface Variation & Texture Behavior

Texture and surface variation influence how light, colour and depth are reflected across a façade. Metallic and textured finishes can introduce movement and visual rhythm, with variation forming part of the intended architectural character rather than a flaw.

Environments

Designed for the places we build

Nu Wall finishes are specified for real-world conditions — where sun, salt, moisture and daily wear all leave their mark.

Finish selection is critical to protecting surface integrity, maintaining colour stability and supporting long-term performance, and depends on correct specification and installation.

Considerations

Where surface expression meets real-world performance.

A carefully chosen finish doesn't just define appearance, it influences reflectivity, thermal behaviour, maintenance requirements, and how well the surface weathers over time.
