A new chapter in a heritage precinct
The Foundation occupies a prized Parnell block bounded by Parnell Road, Maunsell, George and Titoki Streets — the historic grounds of Blind Low Vision NZ, adjacent to the Auckland Museum and Domain. Generus Living engaged Peddlethorp to master-plan a multi-stage luxury retirement community that sits respectfully among the site’s Category 1 heritage buildings, including the iconic Jubilee Building. The first stage, Nathan Residences, delivers 46 apartments across five levels, with commercial space at ground level. A classical architectural language — proportion, colonnade and enduring materiality ties the new building to its neighbours. Nu Wall E200 aluminium cladding in Pearl Light Bronze Anodised plays a key role in that palette: a warm, refined metallic finish chosen for permanence, so the building’s exterior ages gracefully and serves its residents for decades.
